Swedish Massage
The Swedish Massage is one of the most well known and commonly used methods of massage. The primary goal is to relax the entire body and this is accomplished primarily by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage uses 5 basic styles of strokes which include effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction and vibration/shaking.
Swedish massage therapy is more than just relaxing, it is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the supply of oxygen in the blood stream, removing toxins from the muscles, and improving overall circulation and flexibility.
